Dr. Christian Anton Gerard is an associate professor of rhetoric and writing and faculty advisor for Applause, the national undergraduate literary arts and culture magazine house at UAFS. He is the author of two full-length books of poetry, "Holdfast" (C&R Press) and "Wilmot Here, Collect for Stella" (WordTech). Dr. Gerard has received Bread Loaf Writers' Conference scholarships, the Iron Horse Literary Review’s Discovered Voices Award, many Pushcart Prize nominations, and was a 2017 Best of the Net finalist. His creative and critical work appears widely in national and international journals and anthologies. Dr. Gerard enthusiastically teaches poetry, fiction, and nonfiction writing with a focus on craft and tradition.
