Dr. Steve Wilson is the department chair and an associate professor of criminal justice. He served four years in the U.S. Air Security and seven years as a police officer before earning his Ph.D. in criminal justice in 2005 from the University of Nebraska. He teaches courses related to law enforcement, management and supervision, research methods, statistics, race and ethnicity, and human trafficking. Dr. Wilson's research interests include curriculum development, firearm violence, concealed weapons, attitudes toward the criminal justice system, and organizational policy. He received the James L. Madison Award for Best Published Article in 2012.
